Yet another day passes,
but still no food.
My body gets weaker,
my stomach is empty.
My belly becomes bloated,
I have no energy.
People ignore me,
my stomach is still empty.
My body is fragile,
with bones that easily break.
The pain gets worse,
my stomach is still empty.
Time slowly passes,
each minute in agony.
I close my eyes for the last time,
because my stomach is still empty.

Haikus
Netball Fever
Players are dodging
weaving around each other
the team plays as one
Puppy Always Waging
Running around you
always full of energy
waging his small tail
Pizza Mania!
Cut into slices
with any topping you like
tasty and filling

Poor Sam!
There once was a boy called Sam,
who enjoyed all types of jam,
he jogged onto the road,
and also saw a toad,
but he ran face first into a tram!
Thief
There once was a colony of ants,
who all misplaced their pants,
they were sad,
now they are mad,
because someone stole their plants.

James wanted to become a neurosurgeon, but he didn’t have the brains.
Chewing her fingernails is the nun’s bad habit.
Johnny had rabbit hare on his clothes.
“We don’t have that much thyme left to collect herbs,” Jessica said.

Metaphor - Clowning Around
My friend is a clown.
She’s tall with big feet,
and certainly looks the part.
She makes hilarious jokes,
and laughs at them too.
Everyone believes she’s an idiot,
always embarrassing herself.
But she doesn’t care what people think,
as she clowns about.
She enjoys being the centre of attention,
and is always fun to be around.

Simile - Conserve It, or Loose It
The flowers are like an outsider,
lonesome and afraid.
The trees are like a new born baby,
defenceless against us humans.
The clouds are like the morning fog,
thick and hard to see through.
The bush is like an old lady,
shrivelled from old age.
But very soon this could all change,
as we humans are like sin,
dangerous and harmful.
To help conserve our environment,
put you rubbish in the bin.
lonesome and afraid.
